FACES OF HISTORY
When you walk into the Rose Gate, you will be greeted by 46 portraits of witnesses of the time. These include some of the last surviving resistance fighters from the occupation: Jakob Strandheim, who is the last survivor of the Shetland Gang and the resistance woman Lillian Gabrielsen from Rjukan. Ranveig Forsberg is there as a time witness from Narvik.
We also meet Petra Olsen, the last surviving lot from the resistance struggle on Sørøya. It is a portrait of Eystein Røset, the last survivor who fought in the battle for Narvik. There are also portraits of surviving "cave dwellers" from the forced evacuation of Finnmark and many more.
